KONE was founded in 1910 and headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. KONE is a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry. All of KONE’s major production sites are certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards. KONE provides elevator and escalator products that fulfil the requirements of EN81 and EN115-1 European Standards and SS550 Singapore Standards. To date KONE has operations in over 60 countries and collaborates with authorised distributors and agents in almost 100 countries around the world, serving 500,000 customers. In 2019, KONE had thirteen (13) production sites for elevators, escalators and building doors and ten (10) global distribution centers for elevators and annual net sales of EUR 10 billion.

KONE elevators are powered by the KONE EcoDisc® hoisting machine employing a gearless synchronous permanent magnet motor. These machines are smooth and safe (excellent stopping accuracy), super compact (disc-shaped EcoDisc® weighs), environmentally friendly (uses no oil) and energy efficient (approximately 40% less than conventional geared lift) compared to traditional gearless, geared or hydraulic drives.
